Love Tennis
SUNDAY 10th SEPTEMBER 10-4pm
We are again holding our club’s open day under the umbrella of LOVE TENNIS. Although this day is targeted to open our club to the local community to come and try out tennis and encourage new members.
We also want to emphasise that it is an open day for OUR club members to celebrate together our LOVE of tennis. So, we would like to encourage you all to come down for an hour or two between 10-4pm. You can help out on the courts with our visitors, help out with the BBQ, help out by donating items for the raffle, or by bringing along something sweet to eat or by welcoming & chatting to potential members about our club and generally sharing the spirit and atmosphere that is Koru Tennis Club. We have lots of advertising flyers at the club so would like members to take a few and take them into workplaces, give to friends, grandchildren, etc. Juniors – please drop into the club and collect some to give to your friends and bring your friends down on the 10th.
Interclub
Interclub starts on Saturday 2nd September for some teams and the following weekend for others. Interclub draws are expected out late August, date to be confirmed. We have 8 Senior teams entered this season.
Good luck to all our interclub teams.

Partners for the doubles will be drawn from a hat. It will run on subsequent Wednesday nights until it’s conclusion, dependent on the number of entries.
Thank You
A big thank you to Ann Campbell who is "hanging up her mop" after many years of cleaning our club for us. She has done a sterling job.
Congratulations Camila
Many congratulations to our Juniors Coach Camila on the birth of her new baby girl, Amaya born on August 3rd. Mother and baby are doing well.
Junior Tournament
Leo Ryan, one of our top juniors took full advantage recently of the opportunity to be part of a tournament team with players from other clubs, that competed last Sunday in Hamilton. He had some hard-fought matches, and it was a great experience for him.
Goodbye and Good Luck
It is with much sadness we say goodbye to Senior Club members Wei and Neil who are leaving New Zealand and moving to live in Portugal. Wei and Neil have been regular Wednesday night attendees and have enjoyed both their tennis and the social side of the club. Some of the tennis ladies went out for a farewell lunch with Wei. We wish them both all the best in their new venture.
Successes
South Auckland Seniors, who are a rep team of local players, are to be congratulated on their run of 3 wins over Auckland, Waikato and Lower Hutt teams during the winter series. Well done to those Koru players involved.
If you have any ideas to improve our club, feel free to approach one of the committee and share. Take care and keep moving on the court.
